A Colorful Fusion Wedding at Brasada Ranch

There are some weddings that stay with you because of the design, some because of the setting, and some because of the people. Sam and Vikram’s spring wedding at Brasada Ranch was one of those rare celebrations that had all three.
From the very beginning, this weekend was about bringing two families together. As a fusion Indian and Western wedding, it was important that the celebration didn’t feel like two separate traditions living alongside one another, but rather one incredibly personal weekend that reflected both Sam and Vikram.
We began with a colorful welcome party that gave their families and friends a chance to truly gather, connect, and settle into the weekend together. We pulled richer color and pattern into the design here, creating an atmosphere that felt festive, layered, and full of personality. Dance performances brought in the celebratory energy of a Sangeet, while a bangle and bindi bar invited guests to participate and experience another thoughtful piece of the weekend.
I especially loved the opportunity to play with pattern throughout the celebration. Sam and Vikram trusted us to introduce it in subtle, considered ways rather than making every element compete for attention. Those quieter details became an important thread through the weekend, giving the design dimension while still allowing everything to feel refined.
And then there was the wedding day.

One of my favorite things about working with Sam and Vikram was the incredible amount of trust they placed in me creatively. When I presented the idea of creating a large-scale floral installation across the ceiling of Brasada Ranch’s barn, they didn’t shy away from it. They trusted the vision and completely went for it.
That installation ultimately transformed the entire room.
Brasada Ranch already gives you this beautiful Central Oregon backdrop and the warmth of a barn setting, but I wanted the reception to feel distinctly like their wedding rather than simply a beautiful event inside a rustic space. Bringing floral overhead added movement, softness, and this incredible sense of spring throughout the room. It changed the architecture of the space visually and pulled the barn away from feeling rustic and into something romantic, elevated, colorful, and distinctly fusion.
That kind of design only happens when there is trust between a couple and their creative team.
Sam and Vikram gave us permission to push the room further, to bring in color, to layer pattern, and to create something that felt joyful without losing sophistication. Their willingness to embrace those ideas made the entire design feel effortless in the end even when the elements themselves were anything but simple.
Beyond the design, though, this wedding was simply such a delightful spring weekend.
I absolutely adored these two.
There was so much warmth surrounding them, and watching their families come together over the course of the weekend was incredibly special. The welcome party felt exuberant and energetic; the wedding day felt romantic and intentional; and together, the events told one cohesive story.
For me, weddings like Sam and Vikram’s are such a beautiful reminder of why trust matters so much in the planning and design process. When a couple allows us to really understand who they are and then gives us the space to interpret that creatively, we can move beyond simply making something beautiful.
We can make something that feels completely, unmistakably theirs.

Sam and Vikram’s Brasada Ranch wedding was exactly that: colorful, welcoming, full of movement and pattern, rooted in two families and traditions, and one of my absolute favorite celebrations of the spring.
